How we can help

Common reasons to get in touch

  • Pain travelling into the buttock or one leg
  • Tingling or numbness in the leg
  • Symptoms making sitting or walking difficult

Another concern? Ask us whether we can help.

At PhysioB, we look at your symptoms, movement and daily activities to understand what may be contributing, then agree a plan with you.

  1. Initial assessment

We discuss your symptoms, assess movement and establish your goals.

  2. Custom treatment plan

Your assessment and everyday needs guide the approach we agree together.

  3. Progress tracking

We review how you are responding and adjust your plan when needed.

Your physiotherapy assessment

Sciatica involves irritation or compression of the sciatic nerve. Symptoms commonly travel through the buttock and one leg and can include pain, tingling or numbness. Leg pain needs assessment; it is not always sciatica.

Your assessment is the starting point for an individual plan. You do not need to choose a treatment yourself - we’ll discuss the options at your visit.

What to discuss at your assessment

  • Where symptoms travel and whether they are changing
  • Any tingling, numbness or changes in strength
  • The effect on walking, sitting and daily tasks
  • Previous treatment, current medicines and any relevant medical reports
  • What you want to get back to and questions about your care

Before your appointment

What happens at the first visit?

You will discuss your symptoms, their history and your goals. Your physiotherapist will assess you and discuss a plan with you. Treatment is selected according to your individual circumstances.

What should I bring?

Bring relevant medical documents and details of previous treatment. If you are unsure which session length to choose, ask before arranging a visit.

How many visits will I need?

Your plan depends on the assessment, your goals and progress. The name of a condition alone does not determine a fixed number of visits.

The clinic will agree and confirm your appointment date and time with you.
