Physiotherapy for swimmers in Ealing

A few lengths for relaxation, club sessions or an open-water goal — swimming means something different to everyone. If symptoms are getting in the way, we can assess the problem and discuss the activities you want to return to.

How we can help

Common reasons to get in touch

  • Shoulder, neck or back discomfort with particular swimming strokes
  • Pain during kicking, turns or pushing away from the pool wall
  • Symptoms that make longer swims or a return after injury difficult

Another concern? Ask us whether we can help.

At PhysioB, we look at your symptoms, movement and daily activities to understand what may be contributing, then agree a plan with you.

  1. Initial assessment

We discuss your symptoms, assess movement and establish your goals.

  2. Custom treatment plan

Your assessment and everyday needs guide the approach we agree together.

  3. Progress tracking

We review how you are responding and adjust your plan when needed.

Your physiotherapy assessment

Your assessment takes place at the clinic. We discuss the strokes you swim, when symptoms occur and how they affect movement out of the water. Understanding your usual sessions and recent changes helps us agree goals and plan rehabilitation around the swimming you enjoy.

Your assessment is the starting point for an individual plan. You do not need to choose a treatment yourself - we’ll discuss the options at your visit.

What to discuss at your assessment

  • Which strokes or parts of a stroke bring on symptoms, and whether one side feels different
  • Your usual session length, frequency and any recent increase in training
  • Symptoms with turns, breathing movements, kicking or use of training equipment
  • Any discomfort away from the pool, previous injuries and medical advice
  • Whether your goal is relaxed swimming, club training or an event

Before your appointment

What happens at the first visit?

You will discuss your symptoms, their history and your goals. Your physiotherapist will assess you and discuss a plan with you. Treatment is selected according to your individual circumstances.

What should I bring?

Bring relevant medical documents and details of previous treatment. If you are unsure which session length to choose, ask before arranging a visit.

How many visits will I need?

Your plan depends on the assessment, your goals and progress. The name of a condition alone does not determine a fixed number of visits.
